The Amazon, the largest rainforest on the planet which produces 20% of the oxygen in the Earth's atmosphere, home to uncountable species of plants and animals, has been in flames for over 2 weeks and there was NO media coverage. When the smoke and ash reached São Paulo, a city more than 1,700 miles away, was this fire then noticed. The Amazon also plays a crucial role in keeping our planet's carbon-dioxide levels in check. It is considered vital in slowing down the pace of global warming. The rising deforestation levels caused by these fires could have devastating consequences to the fight against climate change. #PrayForAmazonia 🙏🏼😢
