I had the most fulfilling and heartwarming time with the dogs and the team @themanthatrescuesdogs The work they do is incredible. There are real life heroes and angels out there. Watching these dogs run on the wheelchairs is just pure joy. The man who started this is a real life superhero 🦸♂️ Meet Michael Baines, a chef and entrepreneur from Sweden, started rescuing dogs in Thailand in 2011. As he began helping more and more dogs, he was faced with a choice. Feed dogs or feed people. So he closed his restaurant doors and focused solely on helping the dogs in his community.
Today The Man That Rescues Dogs Foundation houses nearly 600 dogs at the sanctuary and 350 street dogs that are fed every single day. The Care Unit houses about 50 special needs dogs, 28 that require the use of wheelchairs after becoming paralyzed. The rest of the dogs in the Care Unit are a mix of blind dogs, distemper survivors, and seniors.
The weekly TMTRD spay and neuter campaigns have them on track to sterilize 1500 dogs in 2021.
TMTRD operates a free of charge clinic. Anyone can can bring their pet for absolutely free medical treatment. It’s more important for the TMTRD Foundation to have healthy, vaccinated, and sterilized pets in our community than it is to turn a profit.
What started with one man helping one dog has grown into a team of 28 people who care for 950+ dogs in the community. ❤️🐕 learn more about them at @themanthatrescuesdogs
