IG อเล็กซ์ เรนเดลล์ | ผมพบกับ มาเรียม พะยูนตัวเล็กครั้งแรกในเดือนพฤษภาคม พร้อมๆกับนักเรียนของผมจาก EEC ที่จังหวัดตรังตอนที่เราไปออกค่ายศึกษาพะยูนและระบบนิเวศของหญ้าทะเล มาเรียมได้ใจของผมเหมือนที่ตอนนี้คนไทยที่รู้เรื่องมาเรียมรักเธอ ผมคิดว่าทุกคนต้องมีความรู้มากขึ้นว่าสัตว์ที่น่ามหัศจรรย์เช่นพะยูนต้องเผชิญกับภัยคุกคามอะไรบ้าง การล่าสัตว์ที่ผิดกฎหมายยังเกิดขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่องเพื่อจัดส่งต่อให้กับการค้าเนื้อสัตว์ที่ผิดกฎหมายทั่วโลก นี่เป็นเหตุผลสำคัญที่ผมสนับสนุน สหประชาชาติโครงการสิ่งแวดล้อม @UNEnvironmentในการรณรงค์พืชพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าเพื่อชีวิต #Wildforlife มุ่งหวังให้มีการปกป้องพะยูนแบบมาเรียม ร่วมมือกับผมและสหประชาชาติโครงการสิ่งแวดล้อมนะครับ @amandacemy ช่วยกันเพิ่มจิตสำนึกและอนุรักษ์พะยูนที่กำลังจะสูญพันธุ์ . I first saw Marium the dugong on a visit to Trang in May with EEC students. She stole my heart, like she has with all Thai people. More people need to know how threatened these amazing animals are. Illegal hunting continues in places around the world to supply an illegal meat trade. That’s why I’m supporting @UNEnvironment’s #WildForLife campaign - to protect all of Marium’s species.
