IG ปู - ไปรยา ลุนด์เบิร์ก | My Mission to Colombia has been a heartbreaking and life changing experience. I’ve met so many strong and resilient people who have endured heartbreaking situations. They have truly lost everything. They live in poverty with very little hope and are fearful of the future. Yesterday I made a visit to Brisas Del Norte, an informal settlement on the Caribbean coast formed by Colombian refugees returning from Venezuela in 2014. The community has no access to public services and is exposed to natural disasters. Many children are out of school and there are high risks of gender-based violence. Residents live in simple homes built from recycled materials. Over 4 million Venezuelans are now living in exile, with Colombia hosting the greatest share, even while implementing a peace deal ending five decades of conflict within its own borders. The international community needs to help Venezuela and Colombia. The next few days I would like to share all the powerful stories I’ve had the honor of experiencing this trip.
